This demo film shows Y-axis parting with CoroCut QD. This completely new way of parting off gives higher stability and less vibration which allows for much higher feed rates compared to the conventional method. About y-axis parting:Conventional parting off only uses feed motion along the X-axis. With a new CoroCut QD blade design where the insert pocket is rotated 90 degrees, you can part off along the Y-axis instead. You get a more beneficial direction of the cutting force, resulting in considerably higher blade stiffness which opens up for new machining possibilities within parting off.
