For many years we have been running
something called the buyback program.
It's a solution where we actually go out to our customers and we
ask them to send back the used material that they no longer use.
For instance round tools or drills or inserts.
We took this solution and we basically digitalized it.
The customer goes to a self-service portal with
a few clicks gives the weights and the prices.
Then we just come and fetch the material.
After that we use the material in one of our collection
points and then we ship it further on to Wolfram in
Austria where they actually can recycle the material.
Before there was a lot of manual processes.
There was phone calling,
there was emailing,
discussions about price and then there was
a manual work trying to find the shipment,
how to ship,
what type of containers and so forth.
So we basically simplified the whole solution from beginning to end.
It contributes because we now have control over where things are.
So we can actually know how much material
do we retrieve from the customers,
where do we have material in our supply chain and how
much material does Wolfram need to do in their production.
So instead of buying material with less quality we actually reuse
our metals that we once sold that we know have high quality
and we also know are sustainable and use them in our production.
From a customer perspective it's much simpler
for them because they don't need to call us,
they don't need to email us.
They just go into the webpage and say how much material
they want to send to us and they will get a price directly.
And then with a few clicks they get the
shipping label and they just prepare the goods,
put the shipping label on and we'll come and fetch it.
Two or three days later when we inspect the
material we automatically trigger a payout
and customer will be paid.
On the webpage they can also see CO2 values,
how much they contributed to reduction and they
also can see how much material they have sent to us.
We have so many customers that we show
them how to use the page and they're like,
are we done?
Is it only a few clicks?
Wow, I got payment so fast.
I mean it's been an overwhelming
actually how much they like the solution.
